SCOTUS: Most Important Abortion Case in 25 Years
Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt
While you were watching the primary polls–something monumental is about to happen!
Tomorrow March 2, 2016, the Supreme Court of the United States will hear the most important ABORTION CASE in 25 years. Not since the Casey. v. Planned Parenthood decision in 1992 has so much been at stake.
The Casey decision overturned or “modified” the prevailing ROE v. WADE jurisprudence so that the legal test for limiting abortion was whether state statutes create “undue burdens” on the mother.
In other words, the criterion for scrutiny of law is whether state statutes create an “undue burden” on the mother ability to obtaining the “procedure.” This, by the way, is Sandra Day O’Connor’s triumphant legacy to the “majesty of law” in America. States should not burden the process of killing babies with too many rules.
The case of Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, arises out of a challenge to a Texas law that requires abortion facilities to be governed by standard of health analogous to other health care facilities.
This, of course, would mean that the simple “health procedure” of sucking a baby out of a womb should be governed by the same state rules that govern, say, removing a wart.
This, of course, is being challenged as an undue burden. Leftists and secular humanists are funny people. They regulate everything: rivers, bicycles, food, health care, but sucking babies out of a womb is the last unregulated free market. For leftist, laissez faire is the substantive right of the powerful to dispose at will of the weak. The same party that gave us Dred Scott, is still around.
Caveat Emptor young lady!
God took “Nino” Scalia from us not long ago. We needed him now for this case, at this moment, in this crisis . But he was taken.
Why did God do this?
The timing is supernatural. Extraordinary. I fear for what this means to the “unborn” as much as for this generation that must live now with the consequence of God abandoning us to our own perversions.
Ichabod: the spirit has departed.
God Help Us…
